First Lady Wanda Bolton-Davis

Wanda Bolton-Davis is the wife of our pastor here at the St. John Church. The Illinois native and mother of three also serves as a teaching pastor and ministry director at the church.

When Rev. Wanda first moved to the Dallas area in 1983, she aided her husband in the work of the church by serving as Minister of Music, starting the Social Service Ministry and founding the Annual Women’s Retreat. This was all while working as a social worker in the field of adoption.

Rev. Wanda has a heart for God and His people and possesses a strong passion for discipleship. This passion led her to write and self-publish a discipleship guide called, “Victorious Disciples.” The release of the book also served as the foundation for Victorious Disciples Ministries Inc., a discipleship, mentoring, and leadership development ministry. Victorious Disciples has been implemented in churches all across the United States, Bermuda, Africa, and beyond since its inception in 2004. To learn more, visit

Rev. Wanda holds a bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Science, a master’s degree in Social Work, a Master of Divinity degree from Truett Theological Seminary, where she was selected as their Minister of the Year in 2005, and she is currently pursuing the Doctor of Ministry degree at Talbot School of Theology.

Being the First Lady of a mega church is a full job in itself, but Rev. Wanda has managed to always go beyond the call of duty, making great strides of her own within the church and beyond. She has served as Honorary Chairperson and Task Force Member for the American Heart Association, Chairperson for the Alumni Association of the School of Allied Health Sciences at U.T. Southwestern.

In addition, Rev. Wanda is also on the Truett Theological Seminary Advisory Board and in August 2005, led a ministry team to Africa where they ministered to thousands and implemented Victorious Disciples in Nairobi, Kenya. In 2006, she received the Esther Award at the First Ladies Conference hosted by the Urban Alternative and Dr. Lois Evans, wife to renowned bible teacher and author, Dr. Tony Evans.

While the Lord has continually opened doors for Rev. Wanda to minister, her daily prayer remains, “Lord, use me in thy service.”

Stay tuned for more upcoming publications from Rev. Wanda, including a Victorious Disciples Leadership Guide and Victorious Disciples Men book, co-authored with her husband and pastor, Rev. Denny Davis.
